The Checklist was developed to be a succinct list of essential competencies, and it is divided according to lower and upper division skills. We hope that it will be useful in collaborations among libraries serving two- and four-year institutions, in planning and assessing library information literacy programs, and as a resource for course-related instruction, etc.
The writers of the Checklist come from both California State University and California Community College libraries. We welcome your comments and are interested in hearing about ways in which the Checklist is being used.
